THE SCULPTURE
Wood and steel have always been traditional materials for gunsmithing. Through the ages, craftmanship and industrial skills in the area have merged in order to transform those raw materials in the iconic, high-performing and safe products known all-over the world. It's not simple combine wood and metal, as it's not simple to combine tradition and innovation. In order to deal with this challange, every company have to face a unique and inimitable path which combines past, present and future. In the celebration of the "Factory of the Future" Beretta decided to use the techniques of the past and present to shape wood and metal to create a sculpture that will stand the test of time.
For the creation of this sculpture, designers of Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta have reproduced the classic shape of the 3 arrow symbol trough the use of modelling software integrated with generative design tools and three-dimensional sculpting, then generating mathematical models to be realised in 3D printing and electroerosion by the experts in the small series department. Meanwhile, with the support of supply chain specialists, the master carpenters identified and prepared the raw wood element, prepared the following carving stafes and then completed the assembly with the most suitable to enhance its ribbing and colour. All the necessary working steps to create the sculpture have been performed in-house, by the same people who are involved in the production of Beretta products every day.
