Beretta: a record-breaking success
Now that everything is over, now that the curtain has fallen on the shooting range, now that the sound of competition shotguns has given way to the rustling of luggage wheels from people departing, it's time to take stock. And Beretta's results are astonishing: present with about 50% of the guns in action, they secured 93% of the available titles.
Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta approached the sporting event of the year with a double awareness: the skill of the Team shooters and the absolute quality of their products: weapons (DT11 and SL2) and technical clothing. The results exceeded all expectations for the company from Gardone Val Trompia: 14 out of the 15 available titles represent a record. In the previous edition, athletes with a Beretta shotgun achieved 9 victories, one less than the results obtained in 2016, which until yesterday represented the Company's record.
While it is undeniable that a "touch of luck" also plays a role in such spectacular successes, it is equally realistic to speak of the culmination of daily efforts in making Beretta the most reliable partner. The DT11, speaking of shotguns, is the perfect machine: it has successfully evolved over the years thanks to precise "technological injections," especially concerning the barrels (a long-standing pride of the company): the Steelium Pro technology (and Pro X for the new SL2) has given shooters a decisive advantage in terms of "marginal gain." Take, for example, Diana Bacosi's performance, whose unique shooting style involves following the target, allowing the clays to move away significantly before hitting them in the sky. This style is facilitated by the consistency of the patterns from her DT11: even a single pellet can break the clay, and having a homogeneous shot distribution helps decisively.
Beretta has achieved these results by constantly evolving, selecting the best minds in R&D, leveraging technology, and providing it to all shooters through tools like the Shooting Data app.
The connection between Beretta and the most prestigious sporting event ever is represented by an extraordinary hall of fame of triumphs: 9 generations of shooters, 68 years of victories. It all began in 1956 with Galliano Rossini, who used a gun that resembled a hunting shotgun more than a competition one. Since then, Beretta has seen decades of success, achieving ten titles in 2016 alone.
Great achievements also came four years later: out of 116 athletes, 64 used a product designed and built in Gardone Val Trompia, meaning that more than one in two athletes trusted Beretta for the most important challenge of their sporting life.
The decisive turning point came in 2011 with the introduction of the famous DT11, the most victorious shotgun ever. This over-and-under shotgun has brought balance, power, and precision to the hands of the world's best athletes. Every detail of the Beretta DT11 has been crafted with mastery to meet and exceed the technical requirements of the most serious shooters, ensuring exceptional control and perfect shooting.
“This is a long and rich history of excellence, whose results demonstrate the highest quality of our weapons,” comments Carlo Ferlito, CEO and General Manager of Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta SpA. “Each innovation has been a step forward towards creating something extraordinary. It's a journey of successes and realized dreams, a journey undertaken together with our athletes, who are an essential source of development for us and help us continually raise the bar. But it's not just about achieved goals: the prevailing feeling is one of unity, of team, of family. A family in which to grow: shooters and company together."
Invincible minds, unbreakable Champions.
