Bought this for African safari in June. The offset zipper seemed unique but I found the design to be very useful as it allowed a full pocket in the front of the jacket which was very handy. It was unusually cold and unseasonably wet with rain for the first six days of our trip. This coat handled the cold and the rain without difficulty. Riding in an open vehicle in the wind and rain gave me a chance to really test the warmth and durability of this coat. It did not disappoint. The material did not snag on briars and thorns and it moved quietly through the brush and trees. I did not grasp the need for the hands free suspenders until I got to experience the dramatic change in temperature from 35° in early morning to 85° by noon. Walking many miles a day away from supplies or vehicle, the suspenders allowed the removal of the coat without having to tie up my hands by carrying it. It seems Beretta really designed this coat specifically for safari. I would buy it again without reservation.
