Let me preface this review with the good. It’s a snug fit, it feels nice on your person, and it’s well crafted. Everything about the leather portion of the holster is pretty much perfect. However, where this entire holster’s design begins to fall apart are in the snap loops. The holster, in theory, can be rotated in order to “cant†your pistol. The problem with this, is that the cant mechanism is entirely held together by velcro. The 92FS, fully loaded with a round in the chamber, is too heavy for the holster to retain any cant. Once on my hip, the gun ends up freely â€flopping†(rotating) back and forth due to the increased weight in the grip area of the gun. This leads to printing, and in my own testing, insufficient retention doing basic movements. If you plan on standing all day, the holster may be sufficient. If you move a lot, and especially if you carry carry 3 o’clock, the gun has fallen out of my holster on numerous occasions during light jogging, and repeated sitting/standing.
The Worst Holster Will Get You Killed
I have serious doubts that any of the other reviewers have ever seriously carried with this holster. Yes, the material is nice. Yes, it fits your 92FS/M9. However, the retention and cant features of this holster are some of the worst I have ever seen. First off, you can forget carrying strong side with this thing. Who at Beretta thought a rotating velcro would be strong enough to hold the cant of a 2&1/2 duty sized pistol? With minimal movement, and I’m talking speed walking and sitting/standing, your holster WILL flop back and forth, lose whatever cant you had, and potentially cause your firearms to slip and fall out. The gun is simply TOO HEAVY for the mechanisms they utilize in this holster. The loops are also way too large. It does not fit snug on ANY gun belt that I own and can be easily grabbed and pulled all across the belt line. All in all, this is a nice looking holster with TERRIBLE functionality that is best left for LARPing or range trips. This is NOT a duty holster.
